Paddleboard Cross-Training Tips

Everyone has their own way to unwind. You might like to get active to clear your head, or you may need to step back and relax. Between tai chi and chai tea, there are many ways we like to recharge our batteries. But what about combining relaxation with being active? Standup Paddleboarding (SUPing) does just that. 2) Cross-Training

Cross-training on surfaces that require additional balance triggers the production of neural coordination between muscle groups. As you glide across through the water, the resistance that you're going against provides a workout for your heart. Aside from being a full-body workout, SUPing is also low impact. This means that as you're building your cardiovascular fitness, you're doing so with low risk of injury.

 4) Recovery Day

No matter what your SUPing pace is, you still workout your stabilizer muscles. These muscles are your calves, quads, thighs, and core. This means that even on a recovery day from an intense workout week, you can still paddle down the water while maintaing muscle group and heart fitness. One of the rare benefits of SUPing is its ability to combine a good workout with good downtime.
